Moodle: moodle: cross-site scripting vulnerability via inadequate input filtering in formula editor

A flaw was found in moodle. This vulnerability, known as Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), occurs due to insufficient checks on user-provided data in the formula editor's arithmetic expression fields. A remote attacker could inject malicious code into these fields. When other users view these expressions, the malicious code would execute in their web browsers, potentially compromising their data or leading to unauthorized actions.

Libxml2: memory leak leading to local denial of service in xmllint interactive shell

A flaw was identified in the interactive shell of the xmllint utility, part of the libxml2 project, where memory allocated for user input is not properly released under certain conditions. When a user submits input consisting only of whitespace, the program skips command execution but fails to free the allocated buffer. Repeating this action causes memory to continuously accumulate. Over time, this can exhaust system memory and terminate the xmllint process, creating a denial-of-service condition on the local system.

Discourse vulnerable to stored Cross-site Scripting via Katex in discourse-math plugin

Discourse is an open source discussion platform. Versions prior to 3.5.4, 2025.11.2, 2025.12.1, and 2026.1.0 have a content-security-policy-mitigated cross-site scriptinv vulnerability on the Discourse Math plugin when using its KaTeX variant. This issue is patched in versions 3.5.4, 2025.11.2, 2025.12.1, and 2026.1.0. As a workaround, the Discourse Math plugin can be disabled, or the Mathjax provider can be used instead of KaTeX.

Incus container environment configuration newline injection

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. In versions 6.20.0 and below, a user with the ability to launch a container with a custom YAML configuration (e.g a member of the ‘incus’ group) can create an environment variable containing newlines, which can be used to add additional configuration items in the container’s lxc.conf due to newline injection. This can allow adding arbitrary lifecycle hooks, ultimately resulting in arbitrary command execution on the host. Exploiting this issue on IncusOS requires a slight modification of the payload to change to a different writable directory for the validation step (e.g /tmp). This can be confirmed with a second container with /tmp mounted from the host (A privileged action for validation only). A fix is planned for versions 6.0.6 and 6.21.0, but they have not been released at the time of publication.

pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to version 6.4.0, an attacker who uses this vulnerability can craft a PDF which leads to a memory usage of up to 1 GB per stream. Gnutls: null pointer dereference in _gnutls_figure_common_ciphersuite()

A NULL pointer dereference flaw was found in the GnuTLS software in _gnutls_figure_common_ciphersuite(). When it reads certain settings from a template file, it can allow an attacker to cause an out-of-bounds (OOB) NULL pointer write, resulting in memory corruption and a denial of service (DoS) that could crash the system.
