Memory safety bugs fixed in Firefox ESR 140.10, Thunderbird ESR 140.10, Firefox 150 and Thunderbird 150

Memory safety bugs present in Firefox ESR 140.9, Thunderbird ESR 140.9, Firefox 149 and Thunderbird 149. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 150, Firefox ESR 140.10, Thunderbird 150, and Thunderbird 140.10.

OAuth2 Proxy has an Authorization Bypass in Email Domain Validation via Malformed Multi-@ Email Claims

OAuth2 Proxy is a reverse proxy that provides authentication using OAuth2 providers. Prior to 7.15.2, an authorization bypass exists in OAuth2 Proxy as part of the email_domain enforcement option. An attacker may be able to authenticate with an email claim such as attacker@evil.com@company.com and satisfy an allowed domain check for company.com, even though the claim is not a valid email address. The issue ONLY affects deployments that rely on email_domain restrictions and accept email claim values from identity providers or claim mappings that do not strictly enforce normal email syntax. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.15.2.

Memory safety bugs fixed in Firefox ESR 115.35, Firefox ESR 140.10, Thunderbird ESR 140.10, Firefox 150 and Thunderbird 150

Memory safety bugs present in Firefox ESR 115.34, Firefox ESR 140.9, Thunderbird ESR 140.9, Firefox 149 and Thunderbird 149. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 150, Firefox ESR 115.35, Firefox ESR 140.10, Thunderbird 150, and Thunderbird 140.10.

Claude Code: Sandbox Escape via Symlink Following Allows Arbitrary File Write Outside Workspace

Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. Prior to version 2.1.64, Claude Code's sandbox did not prevent sandboxed processes from creating symlinks pointing to locations outside the workspace. When Claude Code subsequently wrote to a path within such a symlink, its unsandboxed process followed the symlink and wrote to the target location outside the workspace without prompting the user for confirmation. This allowed a sandbox escape where neither the sandboxed command nor the unsandboxed app could independently write outside the workspace, but their combination could write to arbitrary locations, potentially leading to code execution outside the sandbox. Reliably exploiting this required the ability to add untrusted content into a Claude Code context window to trigger sandboxed code execution via prompt injection. Users on standard Claude Code auto-update have received this fix automatically. Users performing manual updates are advised to update to version 2.1.64 or later.
